How I Built a Faith-Based Virtual Assistant Business from Home

Running a business rooted in faith shouldn’t feel like a constant hustle.

But before we go too far, I want to take a moment to introduce myself—and this space.
My name is Rachel, and I’m a high-level Executive Virtual Assistant and Social Media Manager for Christian-owned businesses. I’m also a former teacher, a worship leader, a wife, and a stay-at-home mama walking in full dependence on God’s direction every single day.
This blog was born out of the quiet moments between nap times and client calls.
In the in-between of growing my business and raising babies.
In the sacred tension of holding both calling and motherhood with open hands.
Why “Rooted and Ready”?
Because that’s what this season is about.
Rooted in my faith.
Rooted in my identity.
Rooted in my obedience.
And ready—not because I have all the answers—but because I’ve said yes to the One who does.
I spent 14 years as a public school music teacher. I poured into over 650 students every week. I loved it deeply—but when I became a mother, my heart shifted. And so did my calling.
In the summer of 2022, I walked away from the classroom. Not because I stopped caring—but because I started caring more deeply about being present in a new way.
Since then, I’ve built a business that allows me to serve incredible clients and be home with my kids. I get to partner with kingdom-minded business owners. I get to pray over my workday. I get to pivot when my toddler has a fever. And I don’t take a single bit of it for granted.

This is not a space for polished highlight reels.
This is a space for real talk, faith-filled strategy, and grace for the middle.
